Welcome to Dallas

Ambitious career paths, vibrant nightlife, and southern glam

Everything is bigger in Texas and nobody does a better job of displaying this than Dallas. The cultural hub of North Texas is home to museums, professional sports, gorgeous scenery, and some of the best dining establishments in the south. The modern heart of the sprawling DFW metroplex is vibrant and growing, with more of the nation’s largest companies now calling the area home, bringing high-paying jobs and ambitious career opportunities to the Lone Star State.

Dallas was surveyed three years after Texas declared independence. Two years later, the city was officially established and continued to grow with the construction of several nearby railroads. Today, especially in more recent years, the city has transformed into one of the nation’s most prosperous and lively metropolises, truly offering something for everyone to see, experience, and feel.

What to Love

  • A bright, growing city home to high-paying jobs, an abundance of newly built and recently renovated homes, and overall higher quality of life
  • Amazing shopping, professional sports teams, and plenty of other entertainment options
  • Distinct neighborhoods all boasting their own unique character, culture, and style
  • One of the nation’s best culinary scenes

Local Lifestyle

Dallas locals enjoy a cosmopolitan lifestyle with many conveniences. Some of the nation’s largest and best-known companies are taking notice, seeing as so many have made the move to the metroplex in recent years, bringing career opportunities and financial prosperity to North Texas. This vibrant city is also more spaced out than others, allowing for a high number of large parks and other outdoor amenities. Come sunset, Dallasites are spoiled for choice when it comes to options for dinner – Dallas is home to both trendy and well-established eateries and everything else in between.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Dallas has four times more restaurants per person than New York City, making it a major player in the national culinary scene. Large malls, sporting events, and concert venues only add to this exciting city’s entertainment prospects.

Monarch is the epitome of old-world luxury. Homemade pastas, fresh seafood, and the finest steaks are the specialty here, all of which are enjoyed in a swanky atmosphere 49 floors above Elm Street, providing panoramic views of the Dallas skyline. Lobster spaghetti, truffle risotto, and shrimp scampi ravioli are a few of their best creations, accompanied by an impressive drink menu.

Just north of downtown, Nick & Sam’s is another impressive spot for some of the most Instagrammable plates in town. Priding itself for being more of an experience than just a restaurant, this Dallas favorite has developed a solid reputation among locals for their over-the-top caviar plates, larger-than-life steaks, cotton candy, and seven-layer rainbow birthday cake across their 22 years of service.

Hotel Crescent Court is a Dallas icon, well-known for their sparkling pool, luxurious spa, and exquisite on-site dining. The hotel’s Crescent Club is one of the most prestigious memberships in the city. Members enjoy access to fitness facilities and other wellness amenities like cryotherapy and sauna sessions, and meals in the club’s impeccable digs on the 17th floor.

Dallas’ top shopping destination is found at NorthPark Center, home to over 200 varied retailers and a variety of restaurants. Located just north of Uptown, some of NorthPark’s major brands include Apple, Balenciaga, DryBar, and Neiman Marcus, among several others, making it a one-stop-shop for luxury.

Things To Do

On any day of the week, Dallasites can enjoy a professional sports match. The Dallas Cowboys play at AT&T Stadium, while the Texas Rangers’ baseball park is a few blocks away. Located more centrally in town, the Mavericks and Stars represent Dallas in the NBA and NHL at the American Airlines Center. The American Airlines Center also holds concerts and other shows throughout the year. Dallas is also home to the State Fair of Texas, held at the end of September every year. In addition to fun carnival games and rides, attendees can shop, enjoy live music, attend the stock show, and sample world-famous fair foods like barbecue, cookie fries, funnel cake, and other indulgent fried concoctions. More quiet weekends are frequently enjoyed strolling the Katy Trail, fishing at White Rock Lake, taking in the urban scenery at downtown Klyde Warren Park, or enjoying fascinating exhibits at the Ross Perot Museum

Schools

Dallas is home to some of the finest private educational institutes in Texas and the nation. A few examples include:
