Welcome to Southlake

Here, the grass truly is greener on the other side

In Southlake, the grass truly is greener on the other side. The streets are cleaner, homes more spacious, and anything anyone could ever need is a short drive away from the town’s quiet neighborhoods. This prominent northern metroplex suburb is home to an excellent school district, high-end shopping, and dining, and peaceful residential enclaves, providing refuge away from the hustle and bustle of inner DFW.

Settlers arrived in 1840 but the city of Southlake was not formally established until 1956. The community remained rural throughout the ‘70s until the completion of nearby DFW Airport, leading to tremendous growth of the region. Today, growth has continued further thanks to several of the nation’s largest companies moving into DFW. Despite such rapid growth, Southlake has maintained its reputation as a sophisticated and tranquil neighborhood and a highly sought-after place to live.

What to Love

  • Quiet residential streets just minutes from local shopping, dining, and entertainment
  • Beautiful golf courses, green lawns, and friendly neighbors
  • Unparalleled school district
  • Mere miles from DFW International Airport
  • An elevated standard of living in all aspects of life

Local Lifestyle

Any negative stereotypes of suburban life are instantly debunked once crossing into the 76092 ZIP code. Southlake residents enjoy a higher standard of living. An abundance of golf courses, the nearby Southlake Town Square, and close proximity to major freeways ensure there is always something to experience without having to search too far. At day’s end, locals return home to some of the metroplex’s most beautiful and highly sought after homes positioned on large, meticulously maintained lots, boasting the most luxurious of amenities.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

While Southlake is a suburban community, locals need not wander far for excellent culinary and shopping options. Celebratory evenings, retail therapy sessions, and more can all be enjoyed a stone’s throw away from home.

Southlake Town Square is the vibrant, beating heart of this community. High-end shopping, fine dining, outdoor spots to soak up the sun, and a wide array of annual events can all be found here at one of DFW’s favorite outdoor shopping destinations. Apple, Barnes & Noble, Williams Sonoma, and Peloton are just some of the convenient shops available to visitors.

Located on Main Street, Moxie’s is a casual eatery boasting an extensive menu of modern creations. Shrimp tacos, protein-style burgers, seared ahi tuna, and salmon Cobb salads are favorites among locals, all of which are enjoyed in an airy space or out on their covered patio. Moxie’s weekend brunch is also a favorite among locals, attracting a buzzy, weekly crowd.

A widely recognized luxury is found at Truluck’s. This swanky collection of restaurants boasts a menu of fresh crab legs, scallops, lobster bisque, and other classics from the ocean which are flown in fresh daily. The dining room is intimate, drink list extensive, and white-glove service is impeccable at one of Southlake’s favorite spots to celebrate a special occasion.

Outside of Town Square, Perry’s is a fine spot known for their famous pork chops and impeccable steaks. Perry’s Friday pork chop lunch special is by far one of the most popular weekly meals in town. A healthy chop accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes goes for only $15, making it an indulgent opportunity to enjoy a very reasonable power lunch.

Things To Do

Southlake Town Square hosts several exciting events throughout the year for residents of all ages to enjoy, like Art in the Square. Taking place toward the end of September, this weekend-long festival summons an impressive lineup of musicians and other artists. In recent years, it has grown into one of the country’s premier festivals celebrating the arts. Also taking place in the fall, Southlake Oktoberfest has attracted hundreds of thousands of attendees since its inception in 2001. In recent years, over 100,000 festival-goers have come to Town Square over the weekend to enjoy the live music, authentic Bavarian bites, children’s activities, and watch the annual wiener dog race. More quiet and leisurely days are enjoyed at Bicentennial Park. The city’s first planned green space is home to sporting fields and courts, a fish pond, playground equipment, trails, picnic facilities, and more.
